W. T. Stace was born in 1881 in England, but he lived in the United States from the age of twelve. He enrolled in Johns Hopkins University at seventeen and attended medical school there at twenty-two
Dr. Stace graduated from the medical school and became a surgeon at the age of twenty-five. He did not like surgery and never practiced medicine.
The next thirty-two years of his life were largely devoted to writing and lecturing on his interest in metaphysical philosophy and metaphysics. He published four books, The Life Review (1921), The Reality Of Being (1928), Metaphysical Essays (1930) and The Cosmic Mind (1935). Dr.
Stace's lectures were recorded, and he also gave radio talks. All four of his books were published by Lippincott, and all but The Cosmic Mind were out of print by 1980.
